PRETORIA - President Cyril Ramaphosa has commended the late ambassador Nathi Mthethwa for facilitating deeper relations between South Africa and France.
Mthethwa plunged to his death from the 22nd floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Paris.

French authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Ramaphosa has described Mthethwa's passing as “a moment of deep grief” for the country.
Prior to his diplomatic posting, the 58-year-old served in the Cabinet for 15 years, holding the portfolios of police and later sports, arts and culture.
