HAMMANSKRAAL -Ikageng Kgadile survived being stabbed multiple times, allegedly by her boyfriend.
The 20-year-old painted a vivid picture of how she survived an attack from murder-accused Lazarus Antonio.
He then allegedly forced her to sleep through the night while she bled heavily from her wounds.
Kgadile says the ordeal began when Antonio returned from a tavern outing with news that he had just killed his ex-girlfriend.
“I did not believe him, and I told him he was lying. He said he wasn’t and then proceeded to show me a video on his phone, which is when I knew it was real,” she told eNCA.
Antonio is accused of murdering 20-year-old Kgaogelo Marota.
Her lifeless body was found with multiple stab wounds outside a tavern in Maubane village, Limpopo, last Thursday.
Antonio later confessed to the attack on social media.

Kgadile says Antonio told her that Marota had been annoying him, and that she had reported him to the police, leading to him being searched while he was at the tavern.
She also says Antonio then threatened to kill her and himself. When his alleged attempt to hang her failed, he allegedly began stabbing her repeatedly.
“I tried to fight back and eventually he stopped,” she says.
Kgadile says Antonio insisted they leave his home, then took her to another house and forced her to sleep through the night while she bled from her open wounds.
The following day, she says, Antonio released her and she went straight to her family.
Even though Antonio has been arrested, Kgadile says she still fears for her life.
Antonio appeared in the Temba Magistrate’s Court for murder and attempted murder.
Civil society groups and Marota’s family gathered outside the court, calling for justice.
Marota’s father, Thabiso Seema, has threatened to take matters into his own hands should Antonio be granted bail.
