The legal minds include Nicolette Bell, Andrea Johnson, Adrian Mopp, Hermione Cronje, Xolisile Khanyile and Menzi Simelane.
They will be grilled on Wednesday and on Thursday in Pretoria.
In November, President Cyril Ramaphosa told Parliament that the decision to appoint an Advisory Panel for the Selection of the NDPP is aimed at instilling public confidence in the process and the person who will fill the vacancy.
