CAPE TOWN - The Independent Electoral Commission is hosting a three-day conference on the viability of electronic voting.
The IEC says this will alter the way citizens cast their vote, but it could be a while before it's implemented due to discussions on security measures and technological hurdles.
Cybersecurity, connectivity and accessibility to technology are among the top concerns raised.
However, the IEC says no one will be left behind during the development and rolling out of the system.
The conference continues on Tuesday, with Namibia presenting how they adopted the system and eventually abandoned it.
