PRETORIA - Suliman Carrim's lawyer has objected to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry using footage of Carrim doing shopping in Cape Town.
Kameel Premhid argued that the video footage would be unnecessary, inappropriate and would not serve any legitimate purpose to the commission.
He revealed this on Friday during an open session where the commission was listening to Carrim’s postponement application.

In his argument, Premhid listed several reasons why he was against the use of the video footage.
The first point, he said the footage is not needed to prove admitted facts.
"The allegations made by the commission have now been admitted, answered to, and amplified by my client and the people deposing on his behalf.
"The footage is not necessary because the footage is not needed to prove admitted facts," he said.
Premhid's second point was that the footage is an inappropriate form of evidence.
"Things like video footage and geolocation footage or geolocation information and so on does not have clinical value," he said
Carrim has repeatedly missed his scheduled appearances, citing an undisclosed illness.
