JOHANNESBURG - As Johannesburg enters day two of a 54-hour maintenance shutdown, the city has promised to deploy water tankers to affected areas.
Fleurhof, Doornkop, Soweto and Roodepoort are currently facing little to no water.

Critical work is under way at the Eikenhof pump station, and many residents are now relying on survival tactics learned during previous water outages to cope with dry taps.
Rand Water said contingency measures are in place as the system will take up to seven days to recover.
