JOHANNESBURG - Reservoirs and towers in Johannesburg will be throttled daily for 14 hours starting on Sunday as the city battles widespread outages.
Large parts of Joburg are already without water, with residents urged to use what little supply remains sparingly.

The central, Deep South, Randburg, Midrand and Roodepoort systems are all under strain.
Taps are dry in Coronationville and Westbury, while northern suburbs are also affected after a burst pipe at the Bryanston reservoir.
There's no timeline for restoration, but the utility says tankers will be deployed.
