Joshlin trial sentencing | Trio to learn their fate on 29 May

CAPE TOWN - The three people convicted in the Joshlin Smith kidnapping trial are set to be sentenced on 29 May. 

Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appolis, and Steveno Van Rhyn were found guilty a week ago of kidnapping and trafficking six-year-old Joshlin Smith, more than a year ago.

Sentencing proceedings will begin on 27 May at the Western Cape High Court sitting in Saldanha Bay, specifically for this case.

It’s still unclear whether Smith, Appolis and Van Rhyn will be presenting any evidence in mitigation of their sentences or whether they will take the stand during this process.
