Judgment reserved in Sibiya vs Masemola case

DURBAN - Judgment has been reserved in the case between Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola and his deputy, Shadrack Sibiya.

Sibiya's lawyer has told the North Gauteng High Court that Masemola's decision to place him on leave of absence falls outside of disciplinary regulations.

Sibiya is demanding to be reinstated.

Masemola argues that his decision is neither unlawful nor a form of punishment

Chartered Director SA's Zola Majavu discussed the day in court's events with eNCA.

Sibiya is challeging Masemola's decision to put him on leave of absence, and argues he has no powers to do so.
