Sibiya being put on leave absence was irregular – Lawyer says

PRETORIA - Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Shadrack Sibiya is fighting for his job before a full bench in the High Court in Pretoria.

Sibiya's lawyer argues that National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola's decision to place him on leave of absence, falls outside of disciplinary regulations.

Sibiya is challenging the decision and is demanding that he be reinstated.

He has now added a supplementary affidavit to his case to strengthen his argument.

The court battle between Masemola and Sibiya takes after Sibiya was implicated for interference in allegations made by KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
