Justice for Jayden-Lee | Gauteng education officials visit school to investigate abuse claims

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Education Department says it will visit Royal College to investigate claims that 11-year-old Jayden-Lee Meek reported being abused before his death.

His mother is now on trial for his murder, but disturbing questions remain.

Jayden-Lee allegedly went to school hungry, with visible bruises.

So who listened? And who failed to protect him?

Spokesperson Steve Mabona said schools need to take action if any complaint comes across their desks.

"They have NGOs that they work with very closely, so school management and the board need to make sure action is taken," he said.
