Justice for Magaqa | State wants defence lawyer withdrawn from case

PIETERMARITZBURG - The state and defence in the murder case of former ANC Youth League Secretary General, Sindiso Magaqa, will tug it out in the high court in Pietermaritzburg in November.

Prosecutors want the lawyer for one of the accused to recuse himself, citing a conflict of interest.

Magaqa was assassinated for reportedly wanting to blow the lid on wrongdoing related to a project to upgrade a memorial hall in uMzimkhulu, where he served as a councillor.

Alleged mastermind Zweliphansi Skhosana, Mbulelo Mpofana and Sbonelo Myeza are on trial for the 2017 murder.
