PRETORIA - Accused number 1 in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Muzi Sibiya, is not backing down on his allegations of assault.
Sibiya claims he was tortured and suffocated on two occasions at a secluded place outside the Vosloorus police station and forced to confess to Meyiwa's killing.
But lead investigator Bongani Gininda denies the assault ever happened.
Police photographer Gezani Manganyi, who captured the inspection in loco, has come under fire from the defense.
He admitted he did not photograph the second scene at the Vosloorus police station,
where Gininda claims he met Sibiya.
Instead, Manganyi told the court he returned the following day to photograph the area as part of standard procedure.
