Justice for Meyiwa | State says Maphisa has a case to answer

JOHANNESBURG - The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumes this Wednesday with arguments in Mthokoziseni Maphisa’s Section 174 discharge application.

The State has opposed the bid, arguing that Constable Skhumbuzo Zungu’s evidence placing Maphisa at the crime scene can be backed by objective proof.

Maphisa maintains the State has failed to link him to the alleged plot to kill the soccer star.

The four other accused have abandoned their discharge applications.

Meyiwa was shot dead at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s home in 2014.
