DURBAN – KwaZulu-Natal police have launched a search for a scholar transport driver who fled after crashing a minibus taxi, killing one pupil.
The minibus taxi overturned in Durban, KwaMashu as pupils from local daycares were being transported home on Wednesday afternoon.

The exact cause of the crash has not been determined, but brake failure is suspected to be the likely cause.
According to the KZN Transport department, authorities met with the owner of the minibus taxi, who indicated he had received a call from the driver informing him about the accident.
“We are calling on the driver, who has since disappeared, to hand himself over to the police,” the department said.
