Madlanga Commission to resume public hearings

PRETORIA - The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is officially resuming its public hearings on Monday.

The inquiry has been in recess for two weeks preparing its second interim report.

Since January, the has Commission focused on the infiltration of criminal syndicates, institutional corruption and collusion within SAPS and Metro Police Departments.

It has also looked at the handling of crime scenes during drug busts. Key testimonies have light into the theft of 541 kilograms of cocaine from the Hawks' office in Port Shepstone.

The Commission is expected to hand over its final comprehensive report to the President Cyril Ramaphosa at the end of August.
