Madlanga Commission to shift focus back to Tshwane Metro Police

PRETORIA - The Madlanga Commission resumes on Thursday, with focus returning to the Tshwane Metro Police.

Inspector Lebogang Phiri from the Roads Policing division will give testimony.

Earlier this month, he was implicated in an R800-million tender, which is now under scrutiny.

Deputy Tshwane Metro Police chief Sean Bolhuis told the Commission that Phiri did not have the authority to allocate security sites to private companies.

Phiri, who is currently suspended, is accused of assigning contract work to private companies, bypassing internal controls and procurement procedures.
