Madlanga Commission wants statement from Sibiya's associate Serge Cabonge

JOHANNESBURG - The Madlanga Commission now has its sights set on Shadrack Sibiya's associate Serge Cabonge.

The commission intends to obtain a statement from Cabonge.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Commission's spokesperson Jeremy Michaels said: "The Commission will engage with Mr Cabonge and obtain his statement as part of its broad investigation into matters falling within its terms of reference and his mention of the Commission in the recording".

A phone call recording played during Sibiya's bail application thrust Cabonge into the spotlight.

He was in conversation with the father of Sibiya's victim. 

In their lengthy conversation, Cabonge told 'Mister M' that he did not gain anything from his dealings with Sibiya.
