JOHANNESBURG - Former president Thabo Mbeki is expected to testify before the TRC cases inquiry on Monday as it continues its investigation into alleged political interference in the prosecution of apartheid-era crimes.
Former president Jacob Zuma’s testimony has been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed due to ill health. He was scheduled to testify before the inquiry on 22 October.
Both former presidents previously attempted, unsuccessfully, to have inquiry chairperson Sisi Khampepe recuse herself from the proceedings.
The inquiry is investigating allegations that political interference obstructed the prosecution of crimes committed during apartheid.
