JOHANNESBURG - Power imbalances in the Eastern Cape division of the High Court are being exposed.
This has emerged at the tribunal into Judge President Selby Mbenenge's conduct.
Mbenenge is accused of sexually harassing court secretary Andiswa Mengo.
She says he repeatedly made requests for intimate pictures with explicit messages.
GBV expert Dr Lisa Vetten says the power dynamic led to Mengo not rejecting the advances outright.
Mbenenge's lawyer, however, accused Vetten of bias in favour of the complainant.
The tribunal will decide if Mbenenge is guilty of gross misconduct and if he should be impeached.
