PRETORIA - Sidelined Police Minister Senzo Mchunu accuses the Political Killings Task Team of human rights violations and acting beyond its mandate.
He says these abuses played into the decision to terminate the PKTT.
But the Madlanga Commission was not convinced, probing his motive for disbanding the task team a little closer.
Mchunu says the PKTT had fulfilled its mandate when it was disbanded.
But the commission wasn't convinced.
Commission chair Mbuyiseli Madlanga said Mchunu was in a big rush to disband the PKTT, which didn't make sense.
Proceedings continue on Friday.
