MPs set to question Mchunu on Tuesday

CAPE TOWN - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu is set to resume testimony in Parliament on Tuesday.

Mchunu, who has been placed on special leave, is the fourth witness to appear before the Ad Hoc Committee probing claims of the rot in the criminal justice system.

The committee’s work is set to wrap up on 28 November.

Mchunu has told MPs that his move to issue a directive for the Political Killings Task Team to be disbanded was carefully considered and not driven by nefarious motives.

Former police minister Bheki Cele is the next witness set to appear before the Committee.
