National Dialogue | Convention kicks off despite criticism

PRETORIA - The National Dialogue's first convention is beginning in Pretoria.

But, it does so amid concerns over implementation and rushed timelines.

The convention is meant to set the agenda for a National Dialogue.

It will address various socio-economic crises facing the nation.

But, several key foundations are not participating.

They include the Thabo Mbeki, Chief Albert Luthuli, Oliver and Adelaide Tambo, and Tutu foundations.

They say the event has lost its citizen-driven focus.

GNU Partners, the Democratic Alliance and Freedom Front Plus are also not participating.
