Nine officers in extortion case to return to court in May

JOHANNESBURG - The case against nine officers accused of extortion and corruption has been postponed.

They appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court for a formal bail application.

The group was arrested last week by the Hawks across Gauteng.

They're accused of demanding money from business owners in the Crown Mines area in Johannesburg.

The officers are believed to have operated outside their jurisdiction.

Their case will be back in court in May.
