Lebo Mniki | DNA samples taken from family

JOHANNESBURG - The girlfriend of a Soweto man who vanished from a Midrand student residence two weeks ago has been released after police questioning.

The 23-year-old, along with her roommate, were treated as persons of interest after 35-year-old Lebo Mniki disappeared following a visit to her residence.

Mniki is still missing.

Police have since collected DNA samples from his family, as a body was recently discovered in a nearby river.

The family has started visiting mortuaries in the hope of finding him.

Mniki's family has appealed to anyone with information to come forward, to help find their son, dead or alive.
