Police continue probe into Mazwi Kubheka kidnapping

JOHANNESBURG - The kidnapping case involving Vosloorus businessman Mazwi Kubheka remains open despite his safe return.

Kubheka arrived at a police station on Saturday night after being missing for a month.

He has received medical care and is at a safe location.

Authorities admit they had no leads until his release.

His family has linked his return to public pressure following large protests in Vosloorus.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and police said South African, Ethiopian and Malawian nationals were involved in the abduction.

Investigators have identified a property in Kensington as the place where he was held, and have raised concerns about the use of hijacked buildings.
