JOHANNESBURG - Authorities are cracking down on drinking and driving.
Nearly 10,000 motorists have already been arrested for drunk driving this festive season.
Road safety experts warn this signals a reckless year-end mindset among drivers.
They warn more people will face serious consequences unless drivers follow the rules.
"It seems that South Africans, come the end of the year, almost have this attitude that, well, I'll do what I want to, irrespective of what the consequences are," said MasterDrive CEO Eugene Herbert.
