President Ramaphosa assesses Mpumalanga flood damage

JOHANNESBURG - Floods have killed several people and caused severe infrastructure damage in Mpumalanga.

President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the province to assess the impact and disaster response.

Government has declared the severe flooding and extreme weather a national disaster.

At least 37 people have been killed across several provinces.

Ramaphosa stressed the need for stricter town planning to prevent homes and villages from being so badly affected by bad weather.
