CAPE TOWN - A 47-year-old prison warden has been arrested in the Western Cape after he was allegedly busted with 60 libido tablets, drugs vaulted at approximately R65, 000 and other items in his vehicle.
The arrest happened on Wednesday during a targeted roadblock at Goodwood Prison.
It was conducted by members of the SAPS Anti-Gang Unit and the Department of Correctional Services Emergency Support Team.

According to Western Cape spokesperson Frederick van Wyk, the operation took place at about 6.40am when the warden’s vehicle was stopped and searched.
"The members found 600 mandrax tablets, 100 grams of tik, 300 grams of dagga, 23 cellular telephones, three earpod pairs, five USB memory sticks, 10 condoms and 60 libido tablets in the warden’s vehicle," Van Wyk said.
He said the prison warden has been detained at Goodwood SAPS and will appear before court once charged.
