JOHANNESBURG - Suliman Carrim is facing a new Special Investigating Unit investigation.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has authorised a probe into tenders involving his companies.
They include an R168-million contract awarded to a joint venture between his Transnat Coach Lines and Ziggy Investments.
The SIU will also investigate financial dealings between the joint venture and late taxi boss Jotham “King Mswazi” Msibi.

Investigators will look into whether Carrim received improper benefits and whether the state suffered financial losses.
Meanwhile, the SIU's investigation into eThekwini Municipality's security and VIP protection contracts has been expanded.
The probe will now include several additional contracts, as well as extensions and variations to those agreements.
