PIETERMARITZBURG - Parents are demanding stricter measures to ensure vehicles transporting school pupils are roadworthy.
It comes after four children died in Pietermaritzburg when a taxi crashed into a crèche on Thursday.
Authorities and taxi associations admit some vehicles may be not be fit to be on the road.
Transport MEC Siboniso Duma is vowing to conduct an audit.
Duma also urged municipal police to keep a close eye on vehicles transporting school pupils.
