SA men recruited to fight in Russia-Ukraine war to return home

JOHANNESBURG - Eleven more South African men will return home from Russia on Wednesday.

They are part of a group recruited under false pretences to fight for Russia in Ukraine.

Four others returned last week after government intervention.

Two remain in Russia, with one of them in a hospital in Moscow.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has thanked his Russian counterpart for his role in returning the men.

Authorities continue to investigate how the South Africans were recruited to fight for Russia.

The DA lays the blame at the hands of Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and has laid a criminal complaint against her.
