SA to provide R30m humanitarian assistance to Lesotho

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced South Africa will provide R30-million worth of humanitarian assistance to Lesotho.

He said this will help the mountain kingdom’s response to HIV and tuberculosis.

This comes in the context of dwindling levels of international aid.

Ramaphosa, King Letsie II and the Lesotho Prime Minister jointly opened the Senqu Bridge in Lesotho on Wednesday.

The bridge is part of Phase Two of the Lesotho Highlands Water project that supplies water to parts of South Africa.
