SA slams US actions in Venezuela as violation of UN Charter

PRETORIA - South Africa is condemning the US attack on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.

He will appear in a New York court on Monday on charges of narco-terrorism.

International Relations has stated that the attack is a violation of the UN Charter and has called for a Security Council meeting.

It says the attack undermines Venezuela's territorial integrity and political independence.

The UN Security Council is expected to meet on Monday to discuss the issue.
