SAPS turmoil | Madlanga Commission to outline next steps

JOHANNESBURG - The commission to investigate alleged criminality and interference in the criminal justice system will outline its next steps.

President Cyril Ramaphosa gazetted the commission’s terms of reference last week.

It follows explosive claims by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

He alleged politicians, including Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, are working with criminal syndicates.

The inquiry, chaired by Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, has six months to complete its work.

An interim report is due within three months of its launch.
