DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has until today to explain why he can't appear before Parliament next week.
The Ad Hoc Committee wanted him to appear on Monday, with consultations this week.
He was previously invited to take the stand this week.
But Mkhwanazi told the committee he was busy with the Madlanga Commission until 24 September.

On Saturday, the committee requested him to appear on Monday.
He must now provide reasons for the delay and an alternative date.
The Madlanga Inquiry will hold public hearings from 17 September, with Mkhwanazi the first to appear.
Both the Inquiry and Parliament are probing his allegations of interference in police investigations.
