JOHANNESBURG - The Constitutional Court has paused the dispute between the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and Postbank and kept the current payment system in place.
Sassa says this means beneficiaries should expect no disruption as payments continue under the existing arrangement.
Sassa head of communications Paseka Letsatsi said the court has made a decision that the status quo must remain.
"We can assure beneficiaries of the social grant that they will continue to get paid without any hindrance. I also want to make mention of the fact that in its statement, on 25 August, Postbank reassured the beneficiaries of social grants that irrespective of whether the master services agreement is there or not, beneficiaries will definitely be paid what is due to them."
