JOHANNESBURG - Former ANC North West treasurer Suliman Carrim has been arrested at OR Tambo International Airport for failing to appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The 49-year-old businessman was arrested by the Commission’s Recommendations Task Team (CRTT) on Thursday evening, moments before he was due to board a UAE-bound flight.
Carrim has been implicated in corruption and dodgy dealings with Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala.
He's been pushing back on appearing, forcing the Commission to open a case against him.
He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Friday.
