PRETORIA - Suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi is finally going to face the Madlanga Commission.
The Commission was forced to subpoena him, dragging the controversial police official kicking and screaming to face hard questions.
Mkhwananzi is accused of opening the municipality's door to alleged criminal kingpin Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
Among the allegations levelled against him is the facilitation of unauthorised memorandums of understanding with Matlala's CAT VIP Security.
Further testimony at the Commission has linked Mkhwanazi and a unit within Ekurhuleni Metro to a spate of violent crimes, including robbery, murder, extortion, hijackings and theft.
