CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Transport MEC Isaac Sileku plans to extend the 30-day ban on taxi operations between Mfuleni and Somerset West.
The extension will affect a number of routes.
It's part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace between rival associations CATA and CODETA.
Both associations have 24 hours to comment on the proposed extension.
Sileku says the current measures have been effective in preventing violence and creating space for dialogue.
He describes the possible extension as a precautionary move while talks towards a lasting solution continue.
