UPDATE: Body found, two still missing following heavy floods in KZN

JOHANNESBURG - One body has been found in New Hanover following heavy floods.

The search continues for two more people.

They were swept away by raging floods in uMshwathi Local Municipality.

Rescue teams resumed the search on Monday morning.

The KwaZulu-Natal CoGTA says residential property and road infrastructure have been damaged.

The full extent of the destruction is not yet quantified.

The SA Weather Service has issued a warning for severe weather conditions in some parts of the province.

Residents are cautioned against crossing swollen rivers or low-lying bridges.

Disaster management teams are keeping an eye on the conditions.
