EMALAHLENI - Three suspects have been shot dead after robbing a jewellery shop at Highveld Mall in Emalahleni.
Eight gunmen stormed the shop and held an employee and a security guard at gunpoint before making off with an undisclosed amount of jewellery.
Police and private security companies intercepted them soon after driving out of the mall.

A shootout ensued and three gang members were killed while others managed to flee.
Police recovered a car, guns and a rifle and ammunition at the scene.
Some of the jewellery was recovered in one of the getaway cars.
The firearms will now be sent for ballistic testing to establish whether they were used in the commission of other crimes.
