JOHANNESBURG - The case against EFF Member of Parliament Naledi Chirwa was not enrolled in court on Monday, as investigations remain incomplete.
Chirwa appeared in the Hatfield Magistrate’s Court following her arrest over the alleged assault of a police officer at Brooklyn Police Station in Pretoria last Thursday.

The alleged altercation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over an affidavit Chirwa had already signed. Police officers allegedly refused to commission the document, saying it needed to be signed in the presence of a commissioner of oaths.
The EFF maintains that Chirwa was unlawfully detained and alleges that she was denied services and mistreated at the police station.
