UPDATE: Former Minister Malusi Gigaba formally charged

JOHANNESBURG - Former Minister Malusi Gigaba has been formally charged in relation to Transnet tenders.

Gigaba has been added as the fifth accused in the Transnet corruption case.

He'll join former Transnet executives Brian Molefe, Anoj Singh, Siyabonga Gama and Thamsanqa Jiyane in the dock.

The matter has been postponed to 30 January 2026.

Gigaba was summoned to present himself at the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption’s (IDAC) offices in Pretoria in relation to alleged irregularities in Transnet's procurement processes.
