JOHANNESBURG - Prominent Mpumalanga taxi boss Joe ‘Ferrari’ Sibanyoni has been arrested.
He is linked to alleged underworld figures including Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala.
Impeccable sources say Sibanyoni was taken in by the Special Task Force in Pretoria early hours of the morning on Tuesday. Two other people were arrested alongside the businessman.
The trio is expected to appear before the Kwaggafontein Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Police have launched a manhunt for the fourth suspect.
eNCA understands the 60-year-old businessman is currently being kept at a Middelburg police station.
The arrest is reportedly linked to extortion-related charges opened in November 2025 by a businessman in the mining industry. The businessman alleges the accused tried to extort him to the valued of over R2 million.
Sibanyoni has emerged as a recurring figure in testimony before the Madlanga Commission, where evidence has traversed alleged police information leaks, underworld rivalries and a past attempt on his life.
