JOHANNESBURG - The case against alleged Big 5 cartel boss, Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala, has been postponed to 11 November.

The state says this is to centralise all related cases.

Matlala remains in custody facing charges for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane.

The court denied him bail last month, saying he is a flight risk.

He has been implicated at the Madlanga Commission and is accused of being a highly dangerous criminal.

Matlala is also implicated in the R2-billion looting at Tembisa Hospital.

The state says it's aware Matlala seeks to appeal his bail decision and will be opposing that.
