JOHANNESBURG - Businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala has been denied bail.
His next court appearance will be on 7 October.
Matlala is accused of orchestrating a hit on his ex-girlfriend in 2023.
But he maintains he is innocent.
The state has told the court that Matlala was in hiding and using a fake name before his arrest.
His lawyers insist the case is weak and that police are trying to frame him.
He's also been implicated in KZN police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's explosive claims.
