CENTURION - The countdown to the 4 November elections has begun.
Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Mosotho Moepya announced important deadlines for voters and candidates.
Moepya said the voters' roll closes at midnight, and candidate nominations are now open.
"Anyone who is still not registered or whose details are still not correctly reflected on the voters' roll must do so or have the opportunity to do so until midnight tonight. We urge all South Africans who are eligible to register and to vote to use this golden opportunity," he said.
According to Moepya, the election timetable will set out in detail all of the activities that must take place in terms of the law and the electoral process from now on until the election results are declared.
