JOHANNESBURG - The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has adjourned on Thursday, with Witness C once again implicating embattled police minister Senzo Mchunu.
He's detailed how alleged crime boss and businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala bankrolled Mchunu’s ANC presidency campaign, along with other questionable transactions.

Witness C says he felt Matlala was frustrated because he was funding Mchunu's campaign and expected that police would stop investigating him but that wasn't the case.
Matlala also said in 13 May 2025, his tender contract with SAPS had been canceled.
Matlala told the police that Brown Mogotsi was an intermediary.
Money would reportedly be transferred to Mogotsi who would ensure it was received by Mchunu.
Another revelation in Witness C's testimony was how Matlala allegedly bankrolled suspended deputy police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya and the national head of the SAPS Organised Crime unit, Major General Richard Shibiri.
According to Witness C, Sibiya’s money came in cash and would be dropped off at his house.
