JOHANNESBURG - Julius Mkhwanazi has been served with yet another warrant of arrest.
This time, the suspended EMPD deputy chief is facing fraud charges in connection with the alleged fitting of blue lights to Vusimuzi Matlala's vehicles.
His lawyer confirmed that he will appear before the Germiston Magistrate's Court alongside Matlala as a co-accused.
According to the lawyer, this arrest was expected given the revelations that have unfolded before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
"We had this on the cards, and we are glad that it has come so we can deal with it," the lawyer said.

Mkhwanazi was applying for bail in the Emmanuel Mbense murder case when he received his latest warrant.
The bail hearing has been postponed to September.
